Credit Card Fraud Notification
*** ATTENTION ***
The Wounded Heroes Foundation has recently been made aware that someone has been attempting to check the validity of stolen credit card information by utilizing our credit card donation form.
We are aware of this activity and have not accepted any of these charges. At this time, it appears the perpetrators are merely checking the validity of the information, as all attempts have included only partial information.
Our security is such that all information must be input correctly, including full name, address, credit card number and expiration date. All of this information must match, otherwise any donation attempt will be automatically rejected.
If you have recieved notification of a pending charge that you did not authorize, we highly recommend cancelling your card immediately, as it appears someone has gained access to your credit card number. The donation attempts are typically in the amounts of $500.00 or $1000.00.
As a matter of course, most banking institutions typically place a short hold on any transaction attempted, whether or not a charge is accepted or rejected by the merchant. Again, as none of these charges are accepted, you will not be "charged" by the Wounded Heroes Foundation. Thus, any hold should ultimately be released by your bank.
Rest assured, the Wounded Heroes Foundation is not engaged in any illegal activites nor are we accepting unauthorized donations. All information from valid donors is kept secure and confidential.
If you have been a victim of a potential fraud and have additional questions, please feel free to use the Contact Us form found HERE.
